Overview Spiced with coriander and bitter orange peel, Hoegaarden—produced in the city of the same name—is generally regarded as the standard measure for the Belgian witbier style (“white beer,” a category of wheat beer). The brewery makes several beers, but this is the best-known and most widely available.

Overview Heineken is the Budweiser of Europe, a megabrand on whom every possible opinion has been levied—it’s weak, it’s flavorful, it’s the best of its kind, it’s the worst of its kind. It’s highly unlikely that you do not already have your own strong opinion about this beer, but here’s ours: it’s so frequently skunked that it’s never worth ordering in the bottle. On tap, it’s a different matter entirely.

Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc is a premium wheat beer that turns every beer moment in to a sip of French pleasure. Brewed in Alsace, France, Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc uses an old Belgian Wit beer recipe, and adds citrus, giving it a fresh fruity flavour.

The classic Stiegl beer. Stiegl Goldbräu is a smooth, yellow-golden and full-bodied beverage. It’s tangy, well-balanced flavors are wonderful and refreshing.

Stiegl is our favourite Austrian beer. It uses water from the crystal-clear Untersberg region, hops from Upper Austria and hops from Lower Austria. This makes it a truly Austrian experience. We highly recommend a visit to the brewery on a trip to Salzburg (take a cab)! Drink it cold and consider using it to make the perfect Radler (shandy) mixed with Almdudler or a good quality lemonade.
